Felt rather helpless at times. Though so, yet not yet. I lack so much in experience and there are things that only experience can see it through. The one thing that couldn't be rushed, and yet i want to get it done.
At least i get to be the "helping hands".. or rather.. i called for "help" most of the times. And then while the armorer was off to pack lunch today, i "encountered" a customer. He just walked in on his own, and really, the rest of the staffs were too busy outside seeing to other customers' need. Hence, it was really me alone to handle the task. Already was quite spider given the task, and yet the customer want to stand and watch. It is quite like the char kuey diao stall where customers stand around and watch.. Watch what i don't know, but i know that i won't be doing any of those bartending stuns. Expect me to spin the spanner or juggle the measuring tape meh? I'm not "the entertainer" and so nothing to watch. Space is expensive in sg, and there isn't spare space in the CF for people to stand and watch.. at least not around the working area.
And then some of them watch still nevermind.. don't know anything still want to comment/teach this and that.. i'm so tempted to say, "since you so good, why not you..." But no.. I know i can't. They are not always right, but at least i have to be polite. It is part of the service too.
And then there are some that are just trying to be funny.. want cheap, fast and good. SG leh.. where got? I think if a biz is trying to be profitable, the 3 variables won't co-exist at all. Char kuey diao also need time right? Then want a lot of liao3 and still must sell cheap cheap.. if they can find this kind, might as well they sell me.. i'll definitely buy from them (and then resell - arbitrage leh).
And then there is this language barrier thing going on there.. the ang mor all is broken de, and the hokkien is too chim.. either way, i usually can't understand. Especially so is the ang more lor.. all kinds of accent.. wa piang eh leh.. wa piang eh. Everytime like playing charades with them lor.. very fun right?
But all these become mundane le.. this is how the users in this industry are like.. so can't blame them. Maybe i should train up on charades instead of 5-10. Actually i'm quite used to the environment.. just that again, quite a bit of mess here and there. The whatever system they had is their own kind of system.. and everyone got their own.. very complex and difficult to learn. And plus the kind of personality each had, i couldn't say much more. I won't want to be in "infernal affairs", yet i don't think that is how some things should be done.
Of coz, the task for me is to learn amasap.. the rest had to wait.
A lot more to either put it in or leave it out.. i hope to have a balance between them.

Pok
Friday, and was off to the west for "red cliff" after work. Was just in time for the show at 9.30pm and was really glad i still can find the energy and time for leisure. Who says working then got 'life' must be kuku in the head.. or maybe mentally unbalanced. "Red cliff" was very nice, especially when it was ROTK. Sort of like AT LOTR.. coz i don't know why, here was already becoming 'somewhere else'.
Biz was again quiet at the CF.. if this keeps on, i don't know if anyone will kena pok-ed or not. Already the hours are shortened (for some of them except me) to keep cost down (not me coz i'm already a low cost labour).. and so the CF was very quiet after noon.
Spent time doing some cleaning under the shelves and found 15 cents, plus quite a bit of those chocs that fell in. Thought of some ways to perhaps compliment my goyak skill in measuring.. and hopefully i'll be able to keep up the pace with the veterans.
Then the stitches was like going to pok like that. Got a waterproof dressing for the stitches to protect it from grease and whatever metal shrapnel that may further complicate things. It did well, that is of coz.. for each plaster cost $1.10+ .. lol.. and i've got to perhaps get a 2 weeks supply till the removal. Stitches not pok, already my pocket pok.
Thought that at least today was a peaceful day.. but the finale was quite cmi. One customer was utterly disappointed in the services of the CF, and there was quite a bit of pushing of blame. I was feeling quite sorry for the customer.. already we didn't deliver, and then, the originals was gone as well. Then it was quite a blow for the staff as well.. i could tell that none of them wanted all these to happen. It was just a chain of minor events that lead to this. But then when it happened, i felt so helpless (everyday i also helpless one la.. lol).. for i wasn't able to foresee all these, and however much i said didn't help at all. Now that things are finalised, i think all it did was bad publicity for the CF. Sometimes it just take that one time to kill off future opportunities.
Wondered since when i volunteered for tomorrow.. but since it came, i'll go.. hopefully i can get plenty of rest during the journey. After the performance, i'll have to concentrate on the CF liao. Got plenty to know, and plenty to learn. Maybe that include driving the very heavy CF van in manual gear sometime in the near future.
